DoodleWorld is a stylized video game level made in Unreal Engine 4.13. The visual style originated in doodles I would draw in high school in which I created patterns using solid black shapes.
I created the environment using a modular set of objects, which I would scatter throughout the environment to fill it out, with altered scale and/or rotation. I painted the textures by hand in Substance Painter and Photoshop.
For the final result, I used Unreal Engine 4's blueprint editors and shading nodes to establish the mechanics of the game, and create a toon shader.
The objective of the game is to get to the flowers, and the player must figure out how to get there.
This is a cut of the gameplay and cut-scenes in Doodle World.
