• For this project, I wanted to create a horror character based on human fears and how they are often constructs of the human mind. I wanted to embody this in an abstract and stylized horror character.

    This character is inspired by arachnophobia, otherwise known as the fear of spiders. I wanted the character to represent fear in an abstract form.
  • I designed the character to be a spider adapted to assume human features, specifically to inflict fear on¬†humans.

  • I created the main form in Maya and sculpted geometric detail in Zbrush. I then created a high detail sculpt which I converted into a normal map.

    I created a simple posing rig in Maya to get the model in the right position.

  • Next, I painted textures in Substance Painter and imported everything into Keyshot, where I created lights, edited materials, and rendered my final images.
